Kegelbell announces its classification as a general medical device in Japan
Kegelbell, Squee LLC, a pioneer in women's pelvic health, announced its classification as a general medical device in Japan. This patented innovation is designed to strengthen pelvic floor muscles and address issues such as urinary incontinence resulting from factors like childbirth, aging, and sedentary lifestyles.
Kegelbell is honored to be Japan's first registered female pelvic floor strengthening device, achieved in collaboration with Fermata. Fermata, a passionate advocate for women's sexual health, successfully lobbied the Japanese government to establish a dedicated medical category for female pelvic floor strengthening, leading to the official medical registration of Kegelbell—a groundbreaking milestone in supporting women's health in Japan.
In October 2020, Kegelbell made history by expanding into Costco, becoming the first membership retailer in the country to offer the world's only FDA-registered, externally weighted kegel device. Available on Costco.com, this revolutionary product transformed the lives of countless women, providing a convenient and cost-effective solution to strengthen pelvic floor muscles.
Since its 2019 launch, Kegelbell has received numerous accolades, including "Best in Show" awards at The Indie Beauty Expo and recognition in Well + Good's Wellness Trends 2022 report.
Dr. Stephanie Schull, the mind behind Kegelbell, explains, “With Kegelbell, we’re helping women lift where it counts with the easiest way to do a kegel so they can protect themselves from the otherwise inevitable natural weakening of the pelvic floor muscle. We are thrilled that Kegelbell will now be readily available to even more women in Japan.”
