It’s beginning to look a lot like a Christmas... Christmas like no other.
And the only thing we wish this Christmas is something that we took for granted last year and many years before that, and that is - to hug our family and friends and spend this festive time together.
This year was challenging in so many ways, both personally and professionally for many of us. We all struggled in some way or another on how to adjust to the new environment, rules, bans, ways of working, new business models, pivoting, the list just goes on and on. And although it was once again proven to us that our health is our greatest wealth, this pandemic took a toll not only on our mental health, social life but also on our businesses.
This year, it’s more important than ever to support small businesses and those who are just starting up. We actually don’t like the term “small business” because there is nothing small about small businesses. It took great courage to start it, even more determination, persistence, and passion to keep it going. And this year you have that power to keep them going. By simply choosing to buy from them.
Remember that the best gift you can give someone this Christmas, and every other Christmas and holiday, is your love, and presence. Gifts are not the metric of love and will never be. You can also show your support to small businesses you love and respect in many other ways that don’t cost a thing, by liking their posts, recommending them to friends, or sharing their story. But if you are choosing to treat someone you love with something special this Christmas, and you are able to do so, please keep in mind that your purchasing power is tremendous and could save someone’s business. By supporting “small” businesses and startups, you are supporting a dream.
